Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Foster Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Peevey!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Peevey has picked Burke up - he's going for a ride! Peevey dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Peevey throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Burke to regain full guard.
Peevey lands a couple of digs.
Peevey passes Burke's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Peevey wants to pass to mount but Burke is defending the position.
Peevey is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Peevey wants to free his trapped foot but Burke is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Peevey lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Peevey takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Peevey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burke's head.
Peevey throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Peevey slips a nice elbow through Burke's hands, connecting with Burke's forehead.
Peevey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Peevey trying to mount his opponent but Burke defends it.
Peevey lands strikes from half guard.
Peevey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Burke's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Peevey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Burke makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Burke.
Peevey throws a strike but Burke rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Burke looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Peevey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Peevey bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Burke's guard.

Peevey postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Burke avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Burke looking for a sweep. Not yet Burke, not yet.
Peevey pushing down on Burke's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Peevey is looking to advance position but Burke won't allow it.
Burke moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Peevey slips nicely into half guard.
Burke is not content to let Peevey control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Peevey throws a strike but Burke avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Peevey trying to control the position from guard on top but Burke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Peevey lands a couple of digs.
Peevey postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Peevey tries to free his leg and advance position but Burke is retaining full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Burke has Peevey pulled in close to control his posture.
Peevey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Peevey dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Burke misses with a double jab.

Burke feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Burke won't allow Peevey to sweep him here.
Burke looking to sit in guard and control but Peevey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Peevey stands up over Burke, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Peevey throws a big elbow that misses.
Burke manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peevey manages to get himself to full guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Peevey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Peevey lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Burke avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Burke working a defensive guard but Peevey passes into half guard.
Peevey passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Burke!
Burke takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peevey controlling from the full mount.
Peevey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Peevey lands with some strikes.


Burke is rocked!
Peevey tries to control but Burke wriggling away.
Oh Burke is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The referee warns Burke that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Peevey connects with a bit shot that sees Burke covering up! More strikes from Peevey and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Peevey is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Peevey!
