Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Bishop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lazano De Anda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lazano De Anda will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 46 - 40 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lazano De Anda!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Bishop throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. De Anda was covering up waiting for the punch and Bishop finishes the takedown easily into guard.
De Anda utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bishop wants to pass the guard but De Anda is keeping the position.
Bishop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
De Anda wants to stand and escape but Bishop is having none of it.
Bishop is looking to work some ground and pound but De Anda has wrist control.
Bishop trying to move into half guard but instead De Anda has managed to sweep!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Anda gets to his feet. Bishop looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Bishop shoots in looking for a takedown. De Anda tries to sprawl out of it but Bishop keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Anda manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bryan Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bishop shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bishop showed some decent athleticism there.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bishop is keen to just control but De Anda is a slippery customer.

De Anda pushes Bishop off looking to stand but Bishop dives back in and keeps control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bishop lands a nice short elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

De Anda is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bishop is controlling him.

Bishop shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. De Anda is trying to defend but Bishop finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

De Anda stuffs the takedown attempt from Bishop. Bishop gets slowly back to his feet.
De Anda tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bishop shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with De Anda but De Anda pushes him off and we're back to square one.
De Anda feints the counter takedown.

De Anda is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bishop has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
De Anda wants to stand up but Bishop is controlling him.
Bryan Bishop overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

De Anda tries to stand but Bishop is controlling from the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bryan Bishop will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Bishop thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bishop, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
