The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vadeli tries to pull guard but Kainz forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Kainz lands a good knee to the midsection. Vadeli won't want to take too many of those.

Vadeli tries to work over Kainz's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Kainz with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Vadeli fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Vadeli. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kainz wants the takedown. Vadeli is fighting it off but Kainz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Vadeli's guard against the cage.
Vadeli utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kainz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vadeli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kainz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Vadeli has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kainz is looking to defend but Vadeli has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kainz! Vadeli pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kainz taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Fedor Vadeli!
