Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Birdman Lugz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell comes to the cage accompanied by It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 61 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 93 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Birdman Lugz!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lugz avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Lugz avoids the body shot from Liddell.

Lugz closes the distance and pushes Liddell back into the cage.
Lugz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Liddell is pushing Lugz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Liddell manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Liddell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lugz trying to control but Liddell is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Liddell managing to control the position.
Lugz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lugz wants to control from the top but Liddell keeps moving.
Lugz tries to free his leg and advance position but Liddell is retaining full guard.
Liddell pulls Lugz in close to prevent any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Liddell continues to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lugz has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lugz drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Liddell breaks from the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lugz checks a leg kick.
Lugz throws a head kick that misses
and Liddell counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Liddell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Liddell.
Birdman Lugz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lugz moves into the clinch successfully.
Liddell lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Liddell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lugz has closed the distance and engaged Liddell in a clinch.
Liddell with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Lugz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Liddell walks away with a smile on his face. Lugz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Birdman Lugz.

Lugz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Liddell, pushing him back against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Liddell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lugz gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lugz fails to pull guard.
Lugz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Liddell wants to break free but Lugz has control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lugz looking to throw knees to the head but Liddell is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Liddell dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lugz darts in looking for a takedown but Liddell gets double underhooks and turns Lugz into the cage.
Liddell tries to counter by clinching up but Lugz breaks away and moves out of range.

Lugz clinches.

Liddell works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Liddell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Liddell gets to his feet - Lugz follows without any prompting.
Liddell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lugz manages to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lugz forces Liddell back against the cage and clinches.
Liddell working hard to break the clinch.
Lugz is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Liddell is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Liddell with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Liddell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Liddell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Liddell is on top in guard.

Liddell looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Lugz working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Liddell passes Lugz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Liddell not doing much here.
Liddell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lugz can do to turn this around?

Liddell is working for a submission of some sort.
Liddell frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Liddell has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Lugz is forced to tap!
