The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Mcdaniel. Those never looked like landing.
Torda is looking to clinch but Mcdaniel is avoiding it.

Torda tries to bum rush Mcdaniel with a series of wild strikes but Mcdaniel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Torda shoots in looking for a takedown. Mcdaniel tries to sprawl out of it but Torda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mcdaniel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tommie Mcdaniel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mula Torda.
Torda is looking to clinch but Mcdaniel is avoiding it.

Torda throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mcdaniel went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Torda bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mcdaniel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Torda jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Torda throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Mcdaniel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

It looks like Tommie Mcdaniel has been cut.
Mcdaniel throws a series of punches but Torda moves out of range.
Torda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcdaniel as he avoids it easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Torda looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mcdaniel seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Torda with the counter takedown but Mcdaniel avoids it easily.

Torda shoots in for a takedown but Mcdaniel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Mula Torda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcdaniel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Torda's guard.
Torda wants to get back to his feet but Mcdaniel passes into half guard.
Mcdaniel stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Torda to get to his feet.
Mcdaniel misses with a head kick.
Mcdaniel really is a fat lump.
Torda ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcdaniel moves away.
Torda looks for the body kick but Mcdaniel saw that one coming.
Mcdaniel clinches.

Mcdaniel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mcdaniel lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Torda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mcdaniel tries to avoid it but Torda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mcdaniel to the ground. Mcdaniel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mcdaniel takes the fight into the clinch.
Mcdaniel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Torda tries to clinch but Mcdaniel moves out of range.
Mcdaniel seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Mcdaniel changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Torda looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Torda tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Torda tries to roll but Mcdaniel sticks to his back.
Torda really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcdaniel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mcdaniel sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Torda taps out!
