Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Ang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Lord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Rodney Ang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, William Lord!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lord misses with a jab, cross combination.
Lord looks to land a left hand but Ang moved out of range nicely.
Ang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Ang takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Lord misses with a low kick.
Ang takes one on the button.
The fighters circling - Lord throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Ang counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ang wants to stand but Lord has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Lord working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lord.
Ang appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

and Ang counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Ang tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Lord is looking to improve his position.
It looks like Ang is going to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lord is looking to control Ang's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lord avoid being mounted?

William Lord seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Lord throws a hook to the side of Ang's head but Ang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ang drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lord sprawls and moves away.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ang trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Lord can't do much from the bottom here.
Rodney Ang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lord tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lord manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ang's best efforts.
Lord tries to roll over but Ang keeps him under control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lord is concentrating on defense, preventing Ang from advancing position.
Lord wants to control but Ang is keeping busy.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lord is trying to control but Ang passes into side control!
Lord wants to control but Ang postures up.
Lord is trying to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lord tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Ang easily slips into full mount!

William Lord showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

William Lord seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lord lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Ang chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lord can pounce on him.
