Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Virat Kohli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cody McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKenzie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Cody McKenzie . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Virat Kohli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cody McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kohli throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've been told by Kohli's head coaches at Barbell Brigade - $1000 that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
McKenzie moves in looking to clinch but Kohli pushes him off.
McKenzie wants to clinch.
Kohli works McKenzie's body with a nice hook.
McKenzie thuds his right hand into Kohli's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
McKenzie tries to clinch up.
McKenzie tries to close the distance and clinch but Kohli swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kohli lands with a nice body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Kohli counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McKenzie shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McKenzie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kohli manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kohli lands a jab to McKenzie's midsection.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McKenzie wants to clinch up but Kohli keeps it at a distance.
Kohli looks to land a combination but McKenzie avoids it well.
Kohli punishes McKenzie's body with a nice straight punch.
Kohli uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

McKenzie instigates a clinch.
Kohli throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
McKenzie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kohli gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kohli working aggressively here.
Kohli works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
McKenzie blocking some punches.
Kohli tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Kohli is fighting off a takedown attempt but McKenzie is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kohli to the mat. Kohli regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McKenzie's corner is telling him to maintain position.
McKenzie trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kohli wants to stand but McKenzie is controlling the position.
McKenzie wants to stand and escape but instead Kohli has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McKenzie trying to control the position here.
Kohli pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McKenzie is keeping the position for now.
McKenzie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kohli's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McKenzie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McKenzie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kohli is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McKenzie, into his guard.

Kohli passes McKenzie's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Kohli is pressing down on McKenzie's thigh, looking to free his foot. McKenzie is holding on for now.
Kohli is working hard here to advance position.
McKenzie keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Kohli tries to pass the half guard into mount. McKenzie knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kohli is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and McKenzie reverses the position - he's now on top in Kohli's guard.
McKenzie trying to control the position from guard on top but Kohli is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McKenzie throws a big elbow that misses.
Kohli is looking to stand up but McKenzie isn't so interested in that idea.
McKenzie wants to control from the top but Kohli keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Virat Kohli dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McKenzie is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McKenzie moves in looking to clinch but Kohli pushes him off.
Kohli cracks McKenzie with a good jab.
McKenzie tries to clinch up.
McKenzie uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kohli.

Kohli misses with a combination
enabling McKenzie to counter with a crisp jab.
Kohli swats away the attempt to clinch by McKenzie.

Kohli takes a swing at McKenzie's ribcage but misses.
Kohli bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of McKenzie's head.
McKenzie wants to clinch.
It looked like Kohli was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
McKenzie is looking to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McKenzie fails with an attempt to clinch.

McKenzie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kohli managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by McKenzie.
McKenzie tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

McKenzie decides to take the fight back to the feet.
McKenzie tries to clinch up but Kohli circles away and keeps his distance.
Kohli throws a series of punches but McKenzie moves out of range.
Kohli swats away the attempt to clinch by McKenzie.

McKenzie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kohli, pushing him back against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kohli lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kohli.
Kohli working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Kohli pushes McKenzie back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McKenzie has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kohli clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

McKenzie is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Kohli is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Cody McKenzie!
An out of breath and clearly excited Cody McKenzie thanked AnonymouS for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
