Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Todd Ochoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Diesal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Todd Ochoa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Diesal!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ochoa darts in looking for a takedown but Diesal gets double underhooks and turns Ochoa into the cage.
Ochoa has a takedown stuffed.
Ochoa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Diesal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ochoa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diesal somewhat.
Nice takedown defense from Diesal. No joy for Ochoa on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Todd Ochoa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ochoa shoots for a takedown but Diesal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Diesal drives through with a takedown into guard.

Diesal postures up in Ochoa's guard and throws a big left but Ochoa blocks it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ochoa looking to control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Diesal fails with an attempt to clinch.

Diesal has Ochoa up against the cage in a clinch.
Ochoa tries to circle away but Diesal has him pinned against the cage.

Diesal pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Diesal lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ochoa backs up against the cage.


It looks like Todd Ochoa has been cut.

Diesal has closed the distance and engaged Ochoa in a clinch.

Ochoa escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diesal pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Diesal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Diesal tries to clinch up but Ochoa circles away and keeps his distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from Diesal. No joy for Ochoa on that attempt.

Ochoa has managed to clinch.
Ochoa tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Diesal jumps guard but Ochoa turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Diesal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Diesal shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ochoa defends it nicely.

Ochoa postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Diesal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Diesal is working an open guard so Ochoa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Diesal throws a sloppy head kick

and Ochoa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Diesal looks winded!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diesal wants to control but Ochoa is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Ochoa looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Diesal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ochoa wants to stand but Diesal has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Diesal can do anything to dispel that myth.
Diesal is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ochoa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Diesal is proving hard to escape from.
Diesal wants to stand up but Ochoa is controlling him.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Diesal tries for a takedown but Ochoa sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ochoa looks for a takedown but Diesal sprawls well.
Despite the aggression on Diesal's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Ochoa doesn't manage to clinch there - Diesal circles away.

Ochoa pushes Diesal back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Come on Diesal - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Diesal drags the fight down to the ground.
Diesal trying to strike off his back.
Ochoa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Diesal is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ochoa is controlling him.
Ochoa trying to control but Diesal is working from the bottom.

Ochoa stands and steps away. Diesal gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Diesal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Diesal gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ochoa counters with a head kick. That will keep Diesal thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Diesal is breathing heavily.
Ochoa checks a leg kick.

Diesal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ochoa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ochoa appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Diesal throws the kick towards the body but Ochoa avoids it.

Diesal gets caught napping as Ochoa dives in and scores a takedown. Diesal manages to retain guard.
Diesal is wriggling around but Ochoa manages to pass to half guard.

Diesal wants to get back to full guard but Ochoa has passed into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ochoa decides to stand up, so the ref orders Diesal to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Diesal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ochoa as he avoids it easily.

Diesal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ochoa was covering up waiting for the punch and Diesal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Diesal wants to control from the top but Ochoa keeps moving.

Ochoa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diesal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diesal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diesal cracks Ochoa with a solid left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ochoa keeping moving, preventing Diesal from controlling successfully.

Diesal slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Diesal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ochoa is trying to control Diesal's posture but Diesal avoids it.
Ochoa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Diesal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ochoa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Diesal works to advance to full mount. Ochoa defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Diesal blocks Ochoa's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Diesal lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Diesal avoids the attempt from Ochoa to control.
Diesal can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Ochoa is looking to escape.
Ochoa tries to hold on but Diesal postures up.
Diesal trying to control but Ochoa is having none of it.
Ochoa wants to hold on but Diesal pushes him away.

Ochoa gets back to half guard.
Ochoa preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Diesal wants to stand up but Ochoa is controlling the position.
Ochoa is looking to control Diesal's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ochoa avoid being mounted?
Diesal missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ochoa shoots in for a takedown but Diesal shows good takedown defense.
Diesal throws a head kick but Ochoa moves out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Diesal.

Ochoa throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Ochoa scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Diesal wants to get back to full guard but Ochoa has mounted him!
Ochoa manages to capitalize on a mistake by Diesal to take his back!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Chuck Diesal.
I think Diesal has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
