PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Otocanin Zmija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Otocanin Zmija!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Zmija scores with a nice head shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zmija has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Machado wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

We've been hearing good reports from Machado's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Let's hope that Zmija has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

I've got Zmija winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
