Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Franco!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Franco tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brown was well out of range. Poor timing from Franco.
Brown shoots in looking for a takedown but Franco manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Brown's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Franco looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Franco gets to his feet. Brown looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Franco shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Brown is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Franco's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Brown escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Franco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Brown is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Franco is aware though and is defending well.
Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Franco on the ground.
Franco not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Franco stands and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Franco decides to stand back up. Franco steps back and let's Brown get back to his feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Franco.

Franco looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Brown!

Brown is breathing heavily.

You can see the frustration on Brown's face as Franco controls the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Let's hope that Franco has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Franco advances to full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Brown takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Franco's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Franco is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Brown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Brown shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Franco dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Franco scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Brown has hold of Franco's hands but Franco slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Franco stands up from half guard.
Brown throws a head kick but Franco moves out of range.
Eric Brown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Brown misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Franco feints the counter takedown.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - Franco circles away.
Brown closes this distance looking for a takedown but Franco circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown fails in his attempt to clinch.
Brown wants to clinch up but Franco keeps it at a distance.
Franco throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.


It looks like Eric Brown has been cut.

Franco feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Franco changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.


Brown is rocked!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Franco drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Franco seems to have locked his on tight now - Brown screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Franco, as he picks up the win!
