The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Govandekal gets control of Surano's arms and successfully pulls guard. Govandekal will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Govandekal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Govandekal connects with a nice short shot to Surano's temple.

Govandekal fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Surano sprawls well initially but Govandekal persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Govandekal closes the distance looking for a takedown. Surano stuffs it but Govandekal still has hold of him. Govandekal picks Surano up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Govandekal slams Surano to the floor and that's really hurt Surano - he doesn't know where he is! Govandekal throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
