PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Milton Oconnor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harley Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Milton Oconnor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Harley Tan!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tan misses with a takedown attempt - Oconnor sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Harley Tan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tan darts in and clinches Oconnor up against the cage.

Tan breaks from the clinch.
Tan tries to clinch but Oconnor is having none of it.

Tan shoots in looking for a takedown but Oconnor manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Oconnor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tan tries to avoid it but Oconnor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tan to the ground. Tan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Milton Oconnor will probably get the nod.

Tan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oconnor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tan looking to sit in guard and control but Oconnor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Oconnor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oconnor has managed to get both his arms back between Tan's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oconnor is fighting to break Tan's control of his arms but Tan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Milton Oconnor.
