Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ric Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny McCormick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ric Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenny McCormick!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores connects with a right hand. McCormick shakes it off.
Flores takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Flores shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McCormick defends it nicely.
Flores tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McCormick lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Flores lands a right hook to the body.
Flores takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Flores lands with a right hand.
McCormick walks into a straight right hand from Flores.
Flores swings for the body but McCormick moves out of range.
McCormick scores with a jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCormick is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Flores.
A little feinted left hand from Flores on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Flores takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
McCormick misses with an uppercut
and Flores counters with a nice uppercut.
Flores has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
McCormick swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Flores counters with a straight right hand.
McCormick tries to move into range but Flores moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Flores staying out of range there.
Flores fires out a quick counter leg kick but McCormick just manages to avoid it.
McCormick throws a shot from downtown. Flores moves away and avoids it.
McCormick throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Flores scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Flores is working McCormick over with some ground and pound from side control.
I wouldn't like to be where McCormick is right now.
Flores tries to score with some ground and pound. McCormick controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Flores working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Flores postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

You can see the frustration on McCormick's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Flores is trying to ground and pound but McCormick uses the momentary lack of control by Flores to regain half guard.

Flores thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Flores working over McCormick with some ground and pound. McCormick looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Flores throwing shots but McCormick is blocking nicely.

Flores is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McCormick has managed to free his arm - good work.
Flores throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Flores is trying to control the action in half guard but McCormick is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McCormick is still in real trouble! Can Flores finish him?

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Flores looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McCormick seems to have recovered his senses.
Flores not landing any meaningful shots this time.
McCormick works his way to full guard. Good work.
Flores trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
McCormick avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Flores with a flurry of punches that miss.
Flores throws a strike but McCormick rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McCormick wants to pass the guard but Flores is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Flores can't keep his opponent in guard - McCormick advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ric Flores dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

McCormick drops Flores with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Flores! McCormick dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
