The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lokamic misses with a takedown attempt - Richards sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lokamic throws a left and a right that both miss

and Richards counters with a takedown into side control.
Richards is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Lokamic will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Lokamic is trying to improve his position.
Lokamic is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Lokamic manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lokamic is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Richards is aware though and is defending well.

Lokamic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Richards defends it easily.

Richards really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lokamic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Richards connects with a nice short shot to Lokamic's temple.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Richards is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lokamic sees it coming and defends easily.
Richards lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Richards is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Richards seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Lokamic is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Richards pulls his head out easily.
Richards is looking to advance position but Lokamic won't allow it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lokamic has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Richards. Oh but Lokamic has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Richards goes limp - he's gone! Lokamic jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
