Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cornelius Carr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Ciprianni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cornelius Carr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Ciprianni!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ciprianni throws a low kick, looking for Carr's leg but Carr calmly moves out of range.
Carr on the wrong end of a nice hook.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Ciprianni has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Ciprianni uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carr.
Ciprianni takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Carr blocks a jab.
A big left from Carr misses.
Carr avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Carr avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Carr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

It seemed like Ciprianni was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Carr throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ciprianni replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Carr blocks it well.

Ciprianni lands with a hook. Carr tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Carr looks to score with a jab to the body but Ciprianni is just out of range.

Ciprianni is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Carr had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Ciprianni throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

and Carr counters with a right hand to the body.
Cornelius Carr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ciprianni throws a body shot but no joy.
Ciprianni throws a looping overhand right but Carr ducks down to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Cornelius Carr will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ciprianni throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Carr is looking to counter punch.
Carr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Carr fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ciprianni looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ciprianni finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Carr walks forward, straight into a front kick from Ciprianni.

and Carr counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Carr waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ciprianni.
Ciprianni with the counter takedown but Carr avoids it easily.
Carr throws a lazy right hand but Ciprianni sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Carr scores with a sloppy right hand. Ciprianni should have avoided that one.
Carr on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Carr lands a left and a right that send Ciprianni crashing to the mat, dazed. Carr thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Ciprianni is rocked!


It looks like Danny Ciprianni has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carr on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ciprianni. Ciprianni obviously looking to wear him down.
Carr lands a nice shot that snaps Ciprianni's head back.
Ciprianni is still on wobbly legs! Can Carr finish him?
Ciprianni lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ciprianni.
Ciprianni seems to have recovered his senses.
Carr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ciprianni throws out the jab.

Ciprianni thuds his right hand into Carr's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Carr takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

and Ciprianni connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ciprianni lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Carr has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Carr and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

A punch lands to the side of Carr 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Carr, as that shot connected.
Ciprianni throws a lazy uppercut
and Carr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ciprianni uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carr.
Ciprianni tries a quick counter leg kick but Carr is wise to it.
Ciprianni looks to throw the jab but Carr is out of range.

A slapping body kick lands there for Carr.

Ciprianni on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Ciprianni tries to land a front kick but Carr steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
It appears Carr was looking to counter with a kick there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ciprianni takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Carr swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Ciprianni takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Carr fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ciprianni on the side of the head.
Carr lands a nice hook to Ciprianni's body. Ciprianni takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Carr feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cipriannis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Carr scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ciprianni doesn't seem bothered though.

A nice inside leg kick there by Carr. That's going to slow Ciprianni down.

and Ciprianni makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Good leg kick by Carr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Carr rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ciprianni counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ciprianni slips a jab from Carr.
Carr tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Ciprianni lands with an uppercut that bounces Carr off the cage and back into range.
Cornelius Carr is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice uppercut lands for Ciprianni. That snapped Carr's head back.
Ciprianni attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Carr looks to land a right hand but Ciprianni moved out of range.

Ciprianni drops Carr with a beautiful combination! Carr stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ciprianni is looking for the KO!


Carr is rocked!


It looks like Cornelius Carr has been cut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carr walks straight into a right hand from Ciprianni - that's dropped him! Ciprianni jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Carr from any more punishment! Carr complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Danny Ciprianni!
After winning the bout, Danny Ciprianni thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
