Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Parvati Mellia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edgar misses with a few strikes there.

Edgar feints and then cracks Mellia's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Mellia down.

Mellia is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Edgar had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Parvati Mellia dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Edgar has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Mellia pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Edgar back to the cage. Mellia follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Frankie Edgar has been cut.
Mellia lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Edgar falls backwards - clearly groggy! Mellia dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
