Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Leon Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kia Nav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leon Dixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kia Nav!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nav misses with a takedown attempt - Dixon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Nav fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dixon, pushing him back against the cage.
Nav gets underhooks to prevent Dixon's takedown attempt.
Nav throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Dixons head.
Nav tries to break the clinch but Dixon is controlling the position.
Nav goes for a takedown attempt but Dixon pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Nav throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dixon seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Nice body punch from Nav.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dixon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nav avoids it really well and circles away.
Dixon dives in and grabs Nav's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nav pushes down on Dixon's head and hops out.
Nav tries to counter with a clinch but Dixon shakes him off and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leon Dixon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dixon dives in for a single leg takedown but Nav sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dixon looks to score with a jab to the body but Nav is just out of range.
Nav shapes to counter with a head kick.
Dixon looks for a takedown but Nav sprawls well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Nav has Dixon pressed against the cage, preventing Dixon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Dixon drags the fight down to the ground.

Nav drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dixon manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nav has Dixon in his guard.

Dixon is fighting to break Nav's control of his arms but Nav is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Nav tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Nav has a closed guard, preventing Dixon from standing up.
Nav is pulling down on Dixon's head to control his posture.
Dixon looking to sit in guard and control but Nav gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dixon tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dixon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nav not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Nav pushes down on Dixon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Nav looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Nav looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dixon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Nav is trying to work for a kimura but Dixon is defending well.
Nav not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Nav escapes and gets back to his feet.
Nav fails with a takedown attempt.

Dixon rushes Nav and presses him up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dixon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Nav.
Dixon misses with a body punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kia Nav dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Dixon tries to clinch up but Nav circles away and keeps his distance.

Nav rushes Dixon and presses him up against the cage.
Nav looking for a takedown.
Nav throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dixon blocks it with crossed arms.
Nav blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Nav prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dixon is pressed up against the cage. Nav has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dixon down to the mat. Dixon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Nav fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dixon throws a big counter combination but Nav scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Leon Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kia Nav.

Nav tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dixon swivels and escapes.
Dixon goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Nav keeps the fight on the outside.
Dixon tries for a takedown but Nav sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Nav steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dixon.

Nav moves into the clinch successfully.
Dixon keeps control of Nav as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Dixon is looking to take this one to the mat.
Nav is looking to break free of the clinch but Dixon has double underhooks.

Dixon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nav shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dixon but Dixon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nav will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dixon doesn't manage to clinch there - Nav circles away.
Nav moves away from the strike by Dixon.
Dixon has a takedown stuffed.

Nav shoots in for a takedown but Dixon shows good takedown defense.
Dixon takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Nav circles away from the clinch attempt.

Nav has closed the distance and engaged Dixon in a clinch.

Nav decides to pull guard.
Dixon wants to pass the guard but Nav is keeping the position.
Dixon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nav seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Nav has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Nav working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dixon doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dixon manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dixon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nav has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dixon has managed to get both his arms back between Nav's legs - danger averted.
Dixon stays in close to Nav's body and controls the position.
Nav wants to sweep here but Dixon controlling him for the moment.
Nav is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dixon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nav seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Dixon won't allow Nav to pass to mount.

Dixon actively working from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dixon is looking to improve his position.
Nav is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kia Nav showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Dixon fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nav shoots for a double leg takedown but Dixon sprawls well. He's pushed Nav's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dixon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Nav shoots in looking for a takedown. Dixon tries to sprawl out of it but Nav keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dixon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dixon blocks a head kick by Nav.
Nav closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dixon circles away.
Leon Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kia Nav.
Dixon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Dixon is looking to counter the offense by Nav and move into the clinch.

Dixon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Nav explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dixon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nav is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dixon looks for a takedown but Nav sprawls well.

Nav moves into range and clinches up with Dixon.

Dixon has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Nav is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Dixon breaks the clinch.
Nav fails with a takedown attempt.
Nav shoots in but no luck this time.
Dixon tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Nav manages to circle out of the way.
Nav stuffs the takedown attempt from Dixon. Dixon gets slowly back to his feet.
Nav fails with a takedown attempt.

Nav darts in looking for a takedown but Dixon gets double underhooks and turns Nav into the cage.
Dixon tries to counter by clinching up but Nav breaks away and moves out of range.
Nav shoots in for a double leg but Dixon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dixon connects with a high kick.
Dixon fails with a takedown attempt.
Nav looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nav avoids the head kick by Dixon.
Dixon sets himself, and Nav steps forward looking for the clinch! Dixon avoids it this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nav looks for a takedown but Dixon sprawls well.
Leon Dixon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kia Nav is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dixon is defended easily by Nav.
