Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz has chosen Troublesome 96 as his entrance music. Andre Diaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
As Diaz tries to get set, Hendrix tries to push him back and clinch up but Diaz manages to avoid the attempt.

and Hendrix counters with a series of strikes. Diaz will be more careful next time no doubt.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Hendrix shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Hendrix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Diaz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hendrix circles away quickly and effectively.

and Hendrix decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Diaz's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diaz wants to stand and escape but Hendrix is having none of it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hendrix accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Diaz wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hendrix manages to pass to side control.
Hendrix looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Diaz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hendrix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground.

Diaz wants to get back to his feet.
Hendrix lands with a punch from half guard.
Hendrix really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Diaz is looking to stand back up but Hendrix counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Diaz.

Diaz has one foot on Hendrix's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hendrix is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Diaz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Diaz's back!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Hendrix. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Diaz is trying to get back to his feet but Hendrix has full control of the position and if anything, Diaz has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Diaz rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hendrix moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Hendrix enables Diaz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hendrix manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jasper Hendrix is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Hendrix has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Diaz is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jasper Hendrix.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hendrix, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
