The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykes misses with a left hand
letting Garcia counter with a right hand.
It looks like Xavier Sykes has been cut.
Sykes doesn't manage to clinch there - Garcia circles away.
Garcia throws a front kick aimed at Sykes's knee but Sykes avoids it well.
Garcia scores with a jab to the head.
Sykes forces Garcia back against the cage and clinches.
Garcia misses with a punch to the body.
Garcia leaning against his opponent.
Sykes lands a right hand.
Garcia presses Sykes against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Sykes blocks a body shot from Garcia.
Sykes misses with a hook from the clinch.

Garcia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A nice side step and Garcia releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sykes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Garcia. Garcia obviously looking to wear him down.

Sykes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Garcia feints and then cracks Sykes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sykes down.
Garcia scoring well with a low kick there.
Garcia misses with a low kick.
Sykes missing with a left hand there. Garcia was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sykes looks to clinch
and Garcia lands a stunning uppercut that sends Sykes to the mat!
Sykes is rocked!

Garcia throwing shots but Sykes is blocking nicely.
Oh Sykes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Garcia throws a strike but Sykes avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Garcia loads up on a big left hand. Sykes felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Garcia looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Sykes can't hide his disappointment, as Garcia celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rodney Garcia!
A relieved looking Rodney Garcia thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
