PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pyotr Korobeikin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnavut Sevket (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arnavut Sevket told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pyotr Korobeikin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Arnavut Sevket!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korobeikin looks to land a right hand but Sevket moved out of range.
Sevket misses with a hook. Korobeikin ducked under it nicely.
Korobeikin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sevket swivels and escapes.
Sevket looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Korobeikin closes the distance and clinches up with Sevket, looking for a takedown. Korobeikin pushes Sevket against the cage but Sevket circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A slow jab from Sevket misses its intended target.
Sevket moves forwards but Korobeikin connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Korobeikin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sevket looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Korobeikin swings around for an armbar but Sevket sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Korobeikin's guard.

Korobeikin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sevket is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pyotr Korobeikin will probably get the nod.
That's time! Korobeikin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sevket stalks Korobeikin and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Korobeikin's face. Korobeikin staggers backwards, shaken.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Arnavut Sevket comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sevket has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Arnavut Sevket decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
