Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
30 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kshitij Singh Negi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
18 - 18 - 1, fighting out of London, Dong Uk!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uk misses with a lunging right hand
and Singh Negi counters with a head kick.
Uk swats away the attempt to clinch by Singh Negi.
A telegraphed right hand from Uk misses the target.
Uk throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Singh Negi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Singh Negi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Uk appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
No joy there for Uk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Singh Negi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Singh Negi is looking to clinch.
Singh Negi takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uk tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Uk jumps guard but Singh Negi turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.
Uk blocks an elbow strike.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Singh Negi just misses with a elbow thrown towards Uk's brow.
Singh Negi tries a knee to the head but Uk blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Uk lands with a right to the head.
Singh Negi with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Singh Negi using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Uk has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Uk working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Uk has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Singh Negi uses from the top position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Uk has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Singh Negi should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Uk has tightened it up now! Singh Negi should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dong Uk!
Dong Uk decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
