The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Morgan clinches up with Hodge and pushes him back against the cage.
Hodge looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Morgan gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hodge really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morgan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Morgan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Morgan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Morgan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Morgan is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hodge can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Morgan looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Morgan has control of Hodge's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hodge regains control of the situation pretty easily.
BOOM! Morgan connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Morgan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Morgan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hodge on his heels. He'll look to pass Hodge's guard now, I'm sure.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Morgan has Hodge pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Morgan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hodge tumbling to the mat - Morgan dives into Hodge's guard.

Morgan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hodge wants to get back to his feet but Morgan is dominant here and he's now got Hodge's back!

Hodge is trying to get back to his feet but Morgan has full control of the position and if anything, Hodge has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Morgan is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hodge knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hodge for a finish.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Morgan controlling the positon.
Lyle Morgan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morgan is working for a rear naked choke. Hodge is not defending it well and Morgan has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Hodge refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Hodge's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
