Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remy Vovchanchyn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Easton!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Easton tries for a takedown but Vovchanchyn circles away easily
and Vovchanchyn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Peter Easton has been cut.
Vovchanchyn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Easton.
Easton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vovchanchyn as he jumps to the side.

Easton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vovchanchyn was covering up waiting for the punch and Easton finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vovchanchyn is trying to keep Easton in close.

Easton is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vovchanchyn trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Easton has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vovchanchyn has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Easton works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Vovchanchyn has momentary wrist control but Easton slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Easton chips away with some ground and pound.
Vovchanchyn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Vovchanchyn wants to sweep here but Easton controlling him for the moment.
Easton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Vovchanchyn is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from Vovchanchyn's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Easton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Easton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Easton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vovchanchyn's half guard.

Vovchanchyn is looking for a sweep. Easton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Easton winds up and cracks Vovchanchyn with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Vovchanchyn is rocked!
Easton lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Vovchanchyn quite badly. Vovchanchyn pulls Easton in close trying to recover. Easton postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Vovchanchyn on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Vovchanchyn doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Easton!
