PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bot Mike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Ray Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ray Ray is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cult of Personality. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Ray Ray!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Ray Ray.


It looks like Bot Mike has been cut.
Mike is breathing heavily.
Mike takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Ray Ray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mike, pushing him back against the cage.

Ray Ray pulls guard.
Mike won't allow Ray Ray to sweep him here.
Ray Ray controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ray Ray pushes Mike off and scrambles back to his feet.

Ray Ray shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mike's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ray Ray stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Mike gets caught napping as Ray Ray dives in and scores a takedown. Mike manages to retain guard.

Ray Ray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mike. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ray Ray lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Mike might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Well, if Ray Ray is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Let's hope that Ray Ray has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mike is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ray Ray is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Mike to the mat. Mike regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Mike tries to keep at a distance but Ray Ray has taken the fight into the clinch.

You can see the frustration on Mike's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Johnny Ray Ray comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ray Ray has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Johnny Ray Ray decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
