PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between AL Lickertwat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Labosky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 25 - 1, fighting out of New York, AL Lickertwat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Labosky!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lickertwat tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Labosky swivels and escapes.
Lickertwat goes for a double leg but Labosky avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Labosky continues to drive forward.
Lickertwat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Labosky as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for AL Lickertwat. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Labosky moves into the clinch.
Lickertwat is struggling to control the position.
Lickertwat looking for a takedown.
Lickertwat tries to pull guard but Labosky holds him up against the cage and eventually Lickertwat drops back down to his feet.
Labosky tries to break the clinch but Lickertwat is controlling the position.
Lickertwat is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Labosky gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lickertwat tries to pull guard but Labosky won't allow it.
Lickertwat lands with a short shot to the head.

Labosky has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lickertwat is trying to keep an underhook but Labosky manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Well, if Labosky is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Lickertwat wants to control but Labosky is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lickertwat is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Labosky seems to be working for a kimura but Lickertwat defends the submission attempt.
Lickertwat is trying to maintain the position but Labosky is very close to passing his half guard.
Labosky is taking a breather. Lickertwat says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Labosky throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Labosky is taking a breather. Lickertwat says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Lickertwat is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Labosky's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Labosky's back!
Lickertwat controlling well, preventing Labosky from escaping the position.
Lickertwat lands strikes to the head.
Lickertwat gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Will Lickertwat go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Lickertwat looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Labosky tries to roll but Lickertwat sticks to his back.
Lickertwat not allowing Labosky to control his hands.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Labosky is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Lickertwat is working the ground and pound. Can Labosky escape?
Lickertwat has Labosky flattened out and is raining down punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Labosky breaks Lickertwat's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Lickertwat is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lickertwat missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Labosky trying to control but Lickertwat postures up.

Lickertwat is looking for a kimura here.
Labosky is trying to control but can't.
Lickertwat winds up and cracks Labosky with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Lickertwat thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Labosky's head.
Lickertwat looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lickertwat moves into full mount! Labosky won't be happy about that!
Lickertwat drops a big elbow. That's hurt Labosky! More shots from Lickertwat and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). AL Lickertwat!
AL Lickertwat really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Milwaukee's Best Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
