Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Justin Lichfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Umar Sultan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sultan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Tears for Fears - Mad World. Justin Lichfield has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Justin Lichfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Umar Sultan!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lichfield fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sultan misses with an uppercut. Lichfield saw that one coming.
Lichfield looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sultan is fending him off so far but Lichfield persists. Nope, Sultan circles away and we're back to standing.
Sultan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lichfield drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Lichfield is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Sultan working for a triangle but Lichfield defends it easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sultan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sultan looking for a guillotine here but Lichfield defends easily.
Lichfield has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lichfield got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sultan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lichfield has managed to get both his arms back between Sultan's legs - danger averted.
Lichfield really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lichfield is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sultan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lichfield defends well.

Lichfield stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sultan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lichfield is in close to Sultan's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Sultan isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lichfield stacks Sultan on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lichfield!
Sultan tries to bench press Lichfield off him but Lichfield keeps the position.

Sultan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Sultan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Lichfield looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Sultan is desperately trying to improve his position but Lichfield has a good base and remains in mount.

Lichfield looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Lichfield has hold of Sultan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sultan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sultan tries to lock up and control but Lichfield gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Lichfield is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lichfield is breathing heavily.

Lichfield seems to be looking for submissions.

Sultan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lichfield pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sultan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Sultan stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sultan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Justin Lichfield has been cut.
Lichfield tries to bum rush Sultan with a series of wild strikes but Sultan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Lichfield changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sultan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Justin Lichfield overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sultan looks to move to half guard but instead Lichfield has passed into mount! Damn!
Sultan is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sultan tries to hold on but Lichfield pushes him away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lichfield lands a big shot there that rocks Sultan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Lichfield cracks Sultan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lichfield manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sultan to take his back!
Sultan tries to roll but Lichfield sticks to his back.

Lichfield is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sultan can do to turn this around?
Sultan wants to control his opponent's hands but Lichfield gets his hands free.

Lichfield has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sultan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Lichfield is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sultan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Sultan tries to escape the position.

Sultan has hold of Lichfield's leg, trying to break free but it's let Lichfield lock up a rear naked choke! This could be big trouble! Sultan is turning an unusual color here… he's out! Lichfield throws him to one side and jumps onto the cage to celebrate with his fans.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Justin Lichfield!
Justin Lichfield decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
