Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jan Paul Valens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerry Zero!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valens throws a lazy head kick
and Zero counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Valens lands a body shot.
Zero tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Valens defends well and Zero ends up having to push Valens into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Zero counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zero displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Valens throws out the jab.
Zero is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Valens checks a low kick from Zero.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valens attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Zero looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

Zero unleashes a big counter combination but Valens bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

It seemed like Zero was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Zero might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Valens has got the better of the exchanges.

Valens throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The fighters circle momentarily. Valens darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Zero dives in for a single leg takedown but Valens sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Valens fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Zero on the side of the head.
