Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cary Oneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riki Shi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shi throws a right and a left that Oneil avoids nicely.
Shi throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Cary Oneil has been cut.
Shi throws a lazy head kick

and Oneil holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Shi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Oneil closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shi quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shi wants to stand back up but Oneil manages to pass into side control.
Shi tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Oneil lands a big elbow.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Shi wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Oneil looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Oneil lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shi is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Oneil.

Shi is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. Oneil sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Shi has no choice but to tap and Oneil jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!
