Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
44 - 41 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hughs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jamal The Prodigy!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Prodigy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hughs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The Prodigy punishes Hughs's body with a nice straight punch.
The Prodigy is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hughs.
The Prodigy throws a leg kick
and Hughs counters with a one-two to the body.
The Prodigy lands with a nice body punch.
The Prodigy misses with an uppercut. Hughs saw that one coming.
Hughs throws a series of strikes that have The Prodigy backpedaling.
Some wild striking there from Hughs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The Prodigy throws out a leg kick but Hughs moves out of range and The Prodigy only half commits.
Hughs blocks a jab.
The Prodigy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hughs walks into a jab.
The Prodigy lands a right hook to the body.
The Prodigy misses with a looping right.
Hughs seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
The Prodigy swings for the body but Hughs moves out of range.
The Prodigy lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Hughs is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
A punch combination from The Prodigy misses.
It looked like Hughs was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Hughs finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under The Prodigy's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Hughs falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jamal The Prodigy!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Jamal The Prodigy waved his t-shirt featuring Machine Fight Gear's logo in front of the cameras.
