Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Georgio Socrates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kizeal Ingram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Georgio Socrates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kizeal Ingram!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ingram avoids the head kick by Socrates.
Socrates misses with a double jab
and Ingram counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Socrates misses with an uppercut
and Ingram counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
An inside leg kick lands from Ingram.
Socrates rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ingram moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
It seemed like Ingram was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Ingram has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Socrates is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Socrates gets caught napping as Ingram dives in and scores a takedown. Socrates manages to retain guard.
Socrates is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Socrates wants to control but Ingram passes easily into half guard.
Ingram prevents Socrates from improving his position.
We've been hearing good reports from Socrates's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Ingram stands up out of the half guard.
Ingram finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Ingram throws a looping overhand right but Socrates ducks down to avoid it.
As Ingram backs away, Socrates returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Socrates misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ingram looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Socrates lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ingram circles away quickly and effectively.

Ingram decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ingram not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Socrates is staying active underneath Ingram, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Ingram is controlling the pace.
Socrates is refusing to be controlled, as Ingram sits in half guard.

Ingram working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Socrates manages to get to full guard.
Ingram forces his way into half guard.
Ingram wants to control but Socrates is keeping him busy.
Socrates desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Socrates gets back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Socrates is trying to keep Ingram in close.

Ingram got a little sloppy there for a moment and Socrates has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ingram has managed to get both his arms back between Socrates's legs - danger averted.
Socrates not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Socrates looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Ingram puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ingram is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Socrates defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Socrates regains full guard. Nicely done.

Socrates is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Socrates working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ingram doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ingram manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ingram drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Socrates dives on top into guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kizeal Ingram dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Socrates misses with a body kick.
Ingram with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Socrates to score with a decent uppercut.
Socrates lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Socrates throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ingram.
Ingram changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Socrates throws a right hand that Ingram ducks under and follows up with a left that Ingram also avoids with ease.

Ingram closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Socrates's guard.

Socrates is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Socrates has a closed guard, preventing Ingram from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ingram tries to free his leg and advance position but Socrates is retaining full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Socrates is looking for a triangle but Ingram pushes his legs off easily.
Ingram throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Socrates works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Socrates swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Socrates misses with a wild combination.
Ingram keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ingram jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Ingram slips under a jab.

Ingram feints and as Socrates raises his hands in defense, Ingram changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Socrates is working an open guard so Ingram takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Socrates misses with a right hand
and Ingram counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Socrates fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ingram manages to avoid it.

Ingram shoots in and bounces Socrates off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ingram pushes down on Socrates's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Ingram stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Socrates to get to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Socrates works over Ingram's head and body with a nice combination.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Ingram darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Socrates flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Ingram wants to stand up but Socrates is controlling the position.

Ingram is working for a submission of some sort.
Socrates has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ingram is working away from the top position though.
Ingram has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ingram seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Socrates is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kizeal Ingram!
