Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gregg Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nanjo Nakai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gregg Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nanjo Nakai!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez wants to clinch up but Nakai keeps it at a distance.
Valdez does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Valdez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nakai lands a nice leg kick that just misses Valdez's sensitive parts.
Valdez shoots for a double leg takedown but Nakai sprawls well. He's pushed Valdez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Valdez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nakai.

Nanjo Nakai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nakai throws a leg kick which misses Valdez's front leg but catches the back leg as Valdez tries to avoid it.
Valdez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Nakai can pounce on him.
Nakai lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Valdez fails with the takedown.
Valdez is breathing heavily.
Nakai lands with a slapping head kick.

Nakai raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Valdez pivots, looking for a leg kick but Nakai is out of range and Valdez settles back down.

Valdez dives in and grabs Nakai's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nakai pushes down on Valdez's head and hops out.

Oh Valdez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nakai lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Valdez crumples to the floor! Nakai milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Nanjo Nakai!
An out of breath Nanjo Nakai thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
