Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eugenio Hoover!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Watson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoover wants to clinch up but Watson keeps it at a distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hoover looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Watson blocks a head kick by Hoover.
Watson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hoover was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Watson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Watson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Watson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hoover.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hoover stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Watson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hoover throws a lazy right hand but Watson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Watson lands a jab-cross combination.
A left and a right from Watson both land. Nice combination.
Watson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hoover paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hoover tries to counter with a takedown but Watson is quick to defend against it.

Watson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hoover changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Watson fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Watson has closed the distance and engaged Hoover in a clinch.

Watson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hoover wants to control but Watson postures up.
Watson is working Hoover over with some ground and pound from side control.
Watson working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoover wants to get back to his feet but Watson is dominant here and he's now got Hoover's back!
Watson is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Watson gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Watson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Watson apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Watson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hoover under the eye.


Hoover is rocked!
Hoover on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Watson. Watson obviously looking to wear him down.
Oh Hoover is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Watson clinches up with Hoover and pushes him back against the cage.

Watson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Watson manages to end up in side control.
Watson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Hoover down.
Watson in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Hoover looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Watson turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean Watson!
Sean Watson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
