The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaalipaa shoots in looking for a takedown. Packalen tries to sprawl out of it but Kaalipaa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Packalen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Packalen dives in for a single leg takedown but Kaalipaa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A head kick from Kaalipaa lands but Packalen takes it in his stride.
Packalen blocks a head kick by Kaalipaa.
Kaalipaa forces Packalen back against the cage and clinches.
Kaalipaa content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kaalipaa manages to pull guard.
Packalen stopping the sweep attempt from Kaalipaa.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kaalipaa holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaalipaa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Packalen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Packalen wants to control from the top but Kaalipaa keeps moving.

Kaalipaa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Packalen trying to control the position from guard on top but Kaalipaa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kaalipaa is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Packalen has his hands clasped together but Kaalipaa extends and breaks Packalen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Kaalipaa.
