PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Ware (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Juan Dela Cruz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juan Dela Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dela Cruz shoots in but Ware avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ware stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ware wants it to stay on the feet.

And Dela Cruz tries to counter it with a takedown but Ware pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Dela Cruz shoots in for a double leg but Ware sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dela Cruz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ware shoots in but no luck this time.

Ware feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ware shoots in looking for a takedown. Dela Cruz tries to sprawl out of it but Ware keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dela Cruz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
No luck for Ware with that takedown attempt.

and Ware counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Dela Cruz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ware looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ware looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ware!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
