Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Conor McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Foggy Dew. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Reis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Reis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McGregor wants to get up but he can't break Reis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Reis has his foot on McGregor 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGregor works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McGregor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Conor McGregor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Reis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McGregor 's guard.

McGregor is defending against the submission attempts here by Reis.
Julian Reis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Reis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
