Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brooklyn King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saban Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brooklyn King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saban Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from King.
Suzuki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Suzuki jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Suzuki misses the body punch
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
King slips a jab and a cross from Suzuki.
Suzuki throws a lazy uppercut
and King counters with a slapping leg kick.
A jab lands there for King.
Suzuki throws a predictable looking body shot
and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
King tries to bum rush Suzuki with a series of wild strikes but Suzuki uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Suzuki misses the jab.
King throws a big counter combination but Suzuki scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
King misses the jab.
Suzuki shoots and misses
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suzuki circles away quickly and effectively.
Suzuki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by King.
A little feinted left hand from King on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King lands a lovely overhand right.
Suzuki throws a right hand that misses
and King counters with an inside leg kick.
Suzuki throws a body shot but no joy.
Suzuki misses with an uppercut.
King is looking to counter with head kicks.
Suzuki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has King pinned against the cage. King gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Suzuki throws a lazy uppercut
letting King counter with a right hand.
King plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Saban Suzuki has been cut.
King connects with a solid leg kick.
Suzuki misses the body punch
and King counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Suzuki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
It looks like King has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Saban Suzuki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Suzuki misses with a lunging right hand
and King counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
King throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Suzuki swings away with a body shot that misses
and King counters with a nice uppercut.
Suzuki misses with a straight left.
Suzuki misses with a body punch
and King counters with a nice uppercut.


Suzuki is rocked!

King cracks Suzuki with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Suzuki looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can King finish him?
Suzuki is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
King slips a straight right by Suzuki.
King lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Suzuki falls backwards - clearly groggy! King dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brooklyn King!
An out of breath Brooklyn King thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
