Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steef Steefler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Debrine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Debrine's choice of entrance music: The Best. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steef Steefler!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Debrine!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Debrine connects with a high kick.
Steef Steefler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Debrine connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Debrine scores with a kick to the body.
Debrine uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Steefler.
Steefler is looking to clinch.
Steefler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Debrine avoids it really well and circles away.
Debrine wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Debrine fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Steefler lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Steefler.


It looks like Max Debrine has been cut.

Steefler tries to pull guard but Debrine holds him up against the cage and eventually Steefler drops back down to his feet.

Debrine has clasped his hands together around Steefler's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Debrine goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Steefler has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Debrine but great work by Steefler.

Steefler stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Steefler shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Debrine defends it nicely.
Steefler walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Steefler doesn't manage to clinch there - Debrine circles away.
Steefler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Debrine's waist but Debrine gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Steefler off to one side.
Debrine counters with a body kick.
Steefler shoots in but no luck this time.
Debrine fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Steefler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Debrine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Debrine tightens his grip and picks Steefler up, before dumping him to the ground. Steefler manages to land in guard.

Steefler shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Debrine as he jumps to the side.

Debrine has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Steefler rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Debrine moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Debrine has Steefler pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Debrine pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Steefler tumbling to the mat - Debrine dives into Steefler's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Debrine takes the fight into the clinch.

Debrine gets control of Steefler's arms and successfully pulls guard. Debrine will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Debrine escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steefler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well Debrine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
