Springfield is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Traditional Fools - Street Surfin'. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springfield shoots in looking for a takedown but Lovelair manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Springfield's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lovelair chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Springfield can pounce on him.

Springfield circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lovelair tries to bum rush Springfield with a series of wild strikes but Springfield uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Springfield lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lovelair will feel that in the morning.
Lovelair throws a sloppy head kick and Springfield moves out of range easily.
Springfield tries a quick counter leg kick but Lovelair is wise to it.
Lovelair misses with an uppercut. Springfield saw that one coming.

Lovelair rushes Springfield and presses him up against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lovelair tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Lovelair has a couple of punches blocked by Springfield.

Springfield successfully pulls guard.
Springfield is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Springfield is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Springfield manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lovelair manages to get himself to full guard.

Lovelair tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Lovelair has control of Springfield's left arm, preventing Springfield from doing any damage.

Lovelair wants to sweep here but Springfield controlling him for the moment.

Lovelair pulls Springfield in close to his closed guard and prevents Springfield from doing any damage or advancing position.

Springfield is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lovelair is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lovelair has escaped and now he's on top!

Springfield is looking to cinch up a triangle. Lovelair throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Springfield's body to avoid the submission. Springfield has instead reached around Lovelair's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Springfield arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
