Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hipolito Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean Barron will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barron misses with a double jab.
Battle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barron sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Barron! But no joy.
Barron swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barron swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Battle counters with a single leg into guard. Barron didn't expect that.
Barron wants to get back to his feet but Battle passes into half guard.

Battle is taking a breather. Barron says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barron is wriggling around but Battle manages to pass to half guard.

Battle content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Barron wants to get back to his feet.
Barron is not content to let Battle control the position.
Barron wants to stand back up but Battle manages to pass into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Battle in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Battle throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Barron bucks up and tries to throw Battle off but instead Battle has got his back!
Barron is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Battle counters by moving into the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Barron's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Battle manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Battle has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Barron off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Barron will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Battle ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Battle no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Battle manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Battle has his feet on Barron's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Barron throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Barron stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Barron wants it to stay on the feet.
No joy there for Barron, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Battle is rocked!
Hipolito Battle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barron throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Oh Battle is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Barron misses with the combination.

Barron takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Battle seems to have got his legs back now.

Battle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Barron misses with the combination.
Barron throws a right and a left that Battle avoids nicely.

I would just about give that final round to Sean Barron.
I think Battle has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
