And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duke McStoner!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McStoner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Stevens tests McStoner's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Duke McStoner has been cut.
Stevens looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A telegraphed right hand from McStoner misses the target.
It looked like Stevens was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from McStoner.
We've been informed that McStoner has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
McStoner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McStoner tries to close the distance and clinch but Stevens swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Stevens throws an off balance right hand

and McStoner counters by moving into the clinch.
Stevens goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
McStoner misses with the head strike.
Stevens wants to break free but McStoner has control.
Stevens presses McStoner against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Stevens trying to control the position but instead, McStoner has worked for underhooks and has pushed Stevens into the ropes.

Stevens manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens throws a jab when McStoner was well out of range.
Stevens ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Danga de danga de dang - Stevens scores with a four punch combination!
Stevens swings for the body but McStoner moves out of range.
McStoner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Stevens counters with a stiff right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McStoner takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McStoner tries to clinch but Stevens moves out of range.
Stevens misses with a few strikes there.
McStoner takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice cross by Stevens.
McStoner gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.


McStoner is rocked!
McStoner lands with a hook. Stevens tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Stevens has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stevens there as he acknowledges the shot.
Stevens swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by McStoner.
Stevens takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stevens throws a body shot but no joy.
Stevens avoids the body shot from McStoner.
McStoner takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Stevens misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McStoner.

Stevens swings for the body but McStoner moves out of range.
McStoner walks into a jab.
Stevens misses the body punch
and McStoner counters with a straight right hand.
Stevens misses with a jab to the body
and McStoner counters with a perfect left hook, dropping Stevens to the canvas. He tries to get back up quickly but his equilibrium is all over the place! He's up... he's back down again! There's no need for a count as the referee calls off the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Duke McStoner! Duke McStoner retains his middleweight title!
Duke McStoner decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
