The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schultz misses with a head kick.
Schultz closes the distance but DeNiro moves to the side

and DeNiro counters with a crisp one two that drops Schultz! DeNiro thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Schultz to his feet! Schultz is in big trouble!
Schultz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? DeNiro is fending him off so far but Schultz persists. Nope, DeNiro circles away and we're back to standing.
DeNiro only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Schultz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
DeNiro walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Schultz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in DeNiro's half guard.
DeNiro tries to get to full guard but Schultz has control of the leg.

DeNiro moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
DeNiro lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

It looks like Octavio Schultz has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
DeNiro passes into half guard.
Oh Schultz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
