The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clark misses with a takedown attempt

and Smith counters with a head kick that drops Clark to the mat! Clark scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

It looks like Anthony Clark has been cut.
Maurice Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Clark.
Smith pushes Clark away with a front kick.
Smith throws a leg kick which misses Clark's front leg but catches the back leg as Clark tries to avoid it.

and Smith counters with a crisp right hand that drops Clark! Smith lets Clark back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Clark is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Clark fails with the takedown
and Smith counters with a nice body shot.
Clark looks winded!
Smith drops Clark with a huge uppercut! Clark drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Smith is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

A determined Maurice Smith didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
