Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mustafa Wagdy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joos Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mustafa Wagdy could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joos Frank's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mustafa Wagdy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joos Frank!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wagdy shoots in looking for a takedown but Frank manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wagdy's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Frank stuffs the takedown attempt from Wagdy. Wagdy gets slowly back to his feet.

Wagdy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Frank to the mat! Frank manages to get full guard.
Frank controls Wagdy momentarily but Wagdy frees himself.
Wagdy passes into half guard.

Wagdy is looking for a kimura but Frank is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wagdy to get the leverage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wagdy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Frank is just riding it out for now. Wagdy eventually gives up the hold.
Frank is looking to improve his position.

Frank is refusing to be controlled, as Wagdy sits in half guard.

Wagdy seems to be working for a kimura but Frank defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wagdy looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Wagdy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Frank!
Wagdy trying to control but Frank is having none of it.
Wagdy really is a fat lump.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wagdy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Frank wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Wagdy looking to control but Frank is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Wagdy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Frank is now in Wagdy's guard. A big mistake from Wagdy there, giving up the dominant position!

Wagdy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Frank can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wagdy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Frank's guard.

Frank stands and steps away. Wagdy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Frank is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Frank leaves Wagdy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Frank is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Wagdy scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Frank won't allow Wagdy to pass to mount.

Frank is pressing down on Wagdy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Wagdy looking to sit in guard and control but Frank gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Frank connects with a nice short shot to Wagdy's temple.

Wagdy trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Frank manages to pass to mount!
Frank avoids the attempt from Wagdy to control.

Frank takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Joos Frank showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
