PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Cave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Cave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Walter White!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cave tries to keep at a distance but White has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cave tries to break free but White pushes him back against the cage.
White scores with an uppercut up the middle.
White looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Cave has a couple of punches blocked by White.
White lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

White's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cave checks the leg kick.
White connects with a leg kick. Cave looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
A big right from White misses.
White misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cave quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

White manages to break the clinch.

and Cave counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

White shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cave as he avoids it easily.
Cave throws a big counter combination but White scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

White moves into range and clinches up with Cave.

Cave can't break the clinch.
Cave wants to break free but White has control.
Cave is breathing heavily.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, White creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
White has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cave avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

White throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cave seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
White misses with a wild combination.
Cave closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


It looks like Nick Cave has been cut.

Cave looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
White will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cave seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd cheers as White lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cave doesn't seem phased though.

White looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Still in half guard, White seems content to control.
It looks like White might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Let's hope that White has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cave pushes White off looking to stand but White dives back in and keeps control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
White is pressing down on Cave's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cave is holding on for now.

White connects with a solid leg kick.

White throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Cave went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
White rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cave moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Cave throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
White lands with a thumping leg kick.

White looks to land a combination but Cave avoids it well.
White throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cave connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
White connects with a leg kick. Cave looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

White closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - White lands in his opponent's guard.

Cave manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

White wants the takedown. Cave is fighting it off but White persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cave's guard against the cage.

White not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from White.
Cave is trying to buck White off.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Cave fails to land with a series of punches.
Nick Cave is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
White gets in close and tags Cave with a short punch that almost sends Cave to the mat! Oh Cave is in big trouble! He turns his back on White, trying to create some distance but White rushes him, striking wildly and Cave goes down! The referee tackles White into the cage to end the fight! White is one violent man!
