Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Theron Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Theron Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Power!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Velasquez drives through and clinches with Power against the cage.
Power swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Velasquez tries to pull guard but Power forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Velasquez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Velasquez dives in for a single leg takedown but Power sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Theron Velasquez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Velasquez tries to clinch but Power is having none of it.
Power throws a looping overhand right but Velasquez ducks down to avoid it.
Power throws a combination that misses

and Velasquez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Velasquez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Power smiles and moves away.

As Power looks to move away, Velasquez throws a big counter combo but Power just gets out of the way.
David Power is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Velasquez counters with a three punch combo that has Power backing up. Power nods at Velasquez to acknowledge the strikes.
Velasquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Velasquez is looking to clinch but Power is avoiding it.
Power misses with a double jab.

Power rushes Velasquez and presses him up against the cage.

Velasquez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Power's efforts to push away.
Power wants to get back to striking at distance but Velasquez won't allow it.

Velasquez drags the fight down to the ground.
Power throws a big elbow that misses.
Power postures up in Velasquez's guard and throws a big left but Velasquez blocks it.

Power throws a strike but Velasquez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Power wants to stand but Velasquez is controlling the position.
Velasquez stands up over Power, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Velasquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Velasquez is working Power over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Power wants to stand up but Velasquez is controlling him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Power can do anything to dispel that myth.

Power is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Velasquez is controlling him.
Power really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Power is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Velasquez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Velasquez won't allow Power to get back to his feet.
Power looks winded!
Power wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Velasquez manages to pass to side control.
Power tries to kick Velasquez off but Velasquez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Power is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Velasquez is controlling him.

Power is looking to stand back up but Velasquez counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Power.

Velasquez slips a nice elbow through Power's hands, connecting with Power's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Velasquez is nestled in close to Power, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Theron Velasquez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Power is trying to stand.
Velasquez cracks Power with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
You get the feeling that Power really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Power takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Velasquez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Power is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Power's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Velasquez is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Power with him. Power is trying to defend but Velasquez has an arm under the chin now! Power grimaces and is forced to tap out!
