Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julian Masterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willie Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willie Salazar will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willie Salazar!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masterson scores with a takedown into Salazar's guard.
Masterson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Salazar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Salazar is trying to control the position but Masterson postures up.

Masterson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Salazar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Masterson has managed to get both his arms back between Salazar's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Salazar is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Masterson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Salazar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Salazar makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Masterson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Salazar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Masterson is tightening it up a little... Salazar has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Salazar reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Salazar taps out! Nice BJJ there by Masterson!
