PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Warren Peace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wolfram Stelzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peace kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is AC/DC Thunder Struck. Stelzer has chosen Business Time as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Warren Peace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wolfram Stelzer!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peace lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Stelzer has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Stelzer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Peace.
Peace displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stelzer throws out the jab.
Stelzer takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Stelzer scores with a jab to the body.
Stelzer misses with a straight right.
Stelzer throws a hook to the side of Peace's head but Peace sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peace feints a jab promting Stelzer to slip. Peace then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Stelzer slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Peace is rocked!

Oh Peace is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Peace shoots in for a takedown but Stelzer shows good takedown defense.
Despite the aggression on Stelzer's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Peace is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Peace seems to have got his legs back now.
Nice defenses there by Peace.
Stelzer swings for the body but Peace moves out of range.

Peace slips a jab and a cross from Stelzer.
Stelzer scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Peace throws an off balance right hand
and Stelzer counters with a nice uppercut.

Stelzer shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Peace manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Stelzer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Stelzer wants to control from the top but Peace keeps moving.

Stelzer works over Peace with some ground and pound from guard.

Peace is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Stelzer postures up and lands a big shot to Peace's brow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Stelzer cracks Peace with a solid left hand.

Peace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stelzer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stelzer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Peace throws his legs up looking for a submission but Stelzer uses it to pass to side control.
Peace really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Stelzer cracks Peace with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Peace takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Peace is trying to control Stelzer's posture but Stelzer avoids it.
Peace sneaks back into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wolfram Stelzer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The fighters circling - Peace throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Stelzer! But no joy.
Peace avoids the body shot from Stelzer.
Stelzer throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Peace stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Peace scores with a hook to the body. Stelzer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stelzer misses with a two punch combination.
Peace is looking to counter punch.
Peace getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Peace throws a lazy right hand but Stelzer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Stelzer throws a body punch but Peace moves out of range.
Peace quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Peace sizes up Stelzer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Stelzer has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Peace tried to counter with a leg kick but Stelzer avoided it.

Stelzer lands a nice hook to Peace's body. Peace takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

An out of breath Wolfram Stelzer thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
Warren Peace spoke after the fight, saying 'I was not prepared for this fight. I will be prepared next time.'.
