Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Rider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zack Rider!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rider has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rider lands a hook to the side of the head.
A nice left hand lands by Rider.
Garcia takes a shot to the head.
Garcia blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Garcia ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Garcia no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Garcia really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rider wants to stand but Garcia has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rider is one step ahead there.

Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Garcia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Garcia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rider has managed to free his arm - good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Garcia is taking a breather. Rider says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Rider is defending against the submission attempts here by Garcia.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rider can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rider is trying to stand.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rider is looking to escape.

Rider tries to get to full guard but Garcia has control of the leg.

Garcia is trying to control. Rider wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rider is trying to stand.
Garcia seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Garcia has a takedown stuffed.

Rider darts in and clinches Garcia up against the cage.
Rider lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Garcia backwards.
Garcia has Rider pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rider manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rider lands a hook to the side of the head.
Garcia takes a shot to the head.
Garcia is looking to control Rider's arms but Rider gets an underhook and turns him. Now Garcia has his back to the cage.
Garcia blocking some punches.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Rider creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Garcia is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rider can't fight it off and eventually Garcia manages to take the fight to the floor. Rider looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Rider manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rider working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Rider lands with a light punch inside.
Rider scores with a shoulder strike.
Rider lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Garcia is trying to drag Rider to the mat but Rider just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zack Rider dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Garcia misses with a takedown

and Rider counters with a crisp right hand that drops Garcia! Rider lets Garcia back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Garcia is rocked!


It looks like Rickson Garcia has been cut.

Rider has managed to clinch.
Oh Garcia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rider working aggressively here.
Rider lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Garcia backwards.
Rider lands with a right to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rider lands a body punch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Rider.
A short uppercut from Rider.
Garcia jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rider walks away with a smile on his face. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rider darts in and clinches Garcia up against the cage.
Garcia jumps guard but Rider turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rickson Garcia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rider pushes Garcia back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Rider lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Rider has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rider lands a big right hand that drops Garcia! The killer instinct kicks in and Rider finishes his opponent with a series of strikes from mount. A dominating finish by Rider!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Zack Rider!
A very excited looking Zack Rider made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
