Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vasily Tymoshenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Virgil Dreesen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tymoshenko 's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Hearts On Fire. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vasily Tymoshenko !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Virgil Dreesen!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dreesen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Dreesen slips a jab and a cross from Tymoshenko .
Tymoshenko throws a body shot but no joy.
Tymoshenko throws a jab when Dreesen was well out of range.
Tymoshenko misses with a jab to the body
and Dreesen counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Tymoshenko shoots in and bounces Dreesen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Tymoshenko is standing up over Dreesen. Dreesen looks to escape but Tymoshenko dives into side control.

Tymoshenko misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tymoshenko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dreesen, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dreesen tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Dreesen parries the strikes from Tymoshenko easily there. Tymoshenko is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dreesen to escape.
Tymoshenko connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Dreesen some visible discomfort.
Dreesen is trying to get back to his feet.
Tymoshenko creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Dreesen sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Tymoshenko is chipping away with strikes.
Tymoshenko throws an elbow but Dreesen slips to the side and avoids it well.
Tymoshenko throwing strikes but Dreesen manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Tymoshenko is looking for a sweep.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dreesen wants to pass the guard but Tymoshenko is keeping the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Tymoshenko trying to keep a closed guard but Dreesen is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tymoshenko throws the kick towards the body but Dreesen avoids it.
Dreesen unleashes a big counter combination but Tymoshenko bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Dreesen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Tymoshenko throws a body punch but Dreesen moves out of range.
Tymoshenko throws an overhand right that lands on Dreesen's shoulder, as Dreesen tries to avoid the shot.
Dreesen looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Tymoshenko scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Dreesen slips a straight right by Tymoshenko .
Dreesen looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Tymoshenko lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Tymoshenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Virgil Dreesen has been cut.
Good work by Dreesen as he checks the leg kick.
Tymoshenko jabs Dreesen right on the nose. Dreesen blinks but takes it well.
Tymoshenko tries for a takedown but Dreesen circles away easily
and Dreesen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Tymoshenko is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Dreesen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasily Tymoshenko dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Virgil Dreesen's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dreesen tries to clinch but Tymoshenko moves out of range.
Tymoshenko tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dreesen was well out of range. Poor timing from Tymoshenko .
Dreesen is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Tymoshenko takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tymoshenko looks for a takedown but Dreesen sprawls well.
Tymoshenko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dreesen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tymoshenko missing with a left hand there. Dreesen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Tymoshenko moves forwards but Dreesen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dreesen is still on wobbly legs! Can Tymoshenko finish him?
Vasily Tymoshenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dreesen walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Tymoshenko swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vasily Tymoshenko !
After the fight, Vasily Tymoshenko was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
