PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Sher Shah Suri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suri kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bohemia - Kali Denali . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suri bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Suri checks the leg kick nicely there.
Suri moves out of range of the body kick from Souza.
Suri scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Souza throws an off balance right hand
and Suri counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Souza takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Suri walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Souza checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Souza stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Suri.
Suri gets cracked there but stands up to it.

It looks like Sher Shah Suri has been cut.
Souza throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Souza throws a looping overhand right but Suri ducks down to avoid it.
Suri lands a leg kick that knocks Souza off balance momentarily.
Suri pushes Souza away with a front kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Suri throws a body shot but no joy.
Souza throws a series of punches but Suri avoids them all with ease.
Souza throws a hook to the side of Suri's head but Suri sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Suri feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Souza's calf.
Suri tries a low kick but Souza avoids it.
Souza is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Suri definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Suri lands with an uppercut that bounces Souza off the ropes and back into range.
Souza throws a jab but it's blocked by Suri.

Suri fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Souza.
Souza lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Suri circles away quickly and effectively.

Suri scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Suri really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sergio Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Souza looks to throw the jab but Suri is out of range.
Sher Shah Suri is winning the standup battle so far.
Souza walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

enabling Suri to counter with a crisp jab.
Suri uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Souza.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Suri avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Souza shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Souza doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

You can see that Souza has visibly slowed down as a result of the leg kicks
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Suri, as that shot connected.
Souza takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A punch lands to the side of Souza 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Suri throws a front kick that sends Souza stumbling back into the ropes.
Suri connects with a looping right hand.

Souza is rocked!

Suri catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Souza stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Souza walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!
Souza is still on wobbly legs! Can Suri finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!

Souza ducks into a a hook from Suri and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
